I need to design a dress that is better for the non-accent waistline clients. So, I decided to do a caftan style that is a straight shaft, and more of a box/kimono armband. The original design is just a rounded boatneck collar, but I’m going to do a neck that is sliced up the middle with a peek a boo contrast binding the next time I make it.
Once it was completed, I decided to add a sequin trim around the neckband and armband. It became more formal in nature. My original dress for the website came out as a maxi length.
The Charlie silk caftan dress is now available as a silk and sequin caftan. Multiple neckline options are eventually going to be available across all of my dresses (boatneck, v-neck, and the split neck (coming next) so far. I may go ahead and use my comp for the red and white Connells Charlie. It’s not my favorite style on me for my body type. It has no definition at the waist, and I need some definition personally.
I also made the Charlie Dress into a pink sequin caftan, and it’s super fun. I lined it in Flowers get all the powers so there is no itch!
