I created the cutest Silk Brocade Mardi Gras Jacket! I used the same silk brocade as my Sweet Briar Caftan, but used fabric that was available in purple, green, and gold. I wanted it to be more of a jacket someone could put on over a dress (instead of my duster style), and go to a krewe luncheon at Galatorie’s or Commander’s Palace for Mardi Gras. I think I succeeded on my goal. Also, decided to line it in a nude fabric which highlights the fabric detail and doesn’t detract from the design. I love it!!! When I was shooting it, I also threw on a pair of jeans and a gold top and the swing duster works as an everyday casual car coat style as well. The style is available in 34″, 40″, or 50″ length. I made it for me in the 40″ length, and it’s perfect!
